Wednesday Count Down

Count down is 3 posts a week.  Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  With a blog one must be loyal to posting.  Then one must find and develop a loyal group of folks who will follow your rantings.  

Yes there are days my nimble lips have much to say.  Then there are days when nothing comes to mind for writing about or for entertainment for viewers; which this is one of those days...mind is sorta blank.

In college - Many many moons ago - the assignments each week in a English Creative Writing course was: 

take 10 minutes each day and just write/type away.  Supposedly creativity will come.  I spent more time correcting spelling errors than writing the first several attempts at this 10 minute slice of brain farts. The assignments did become successful. Thus unlocking hidden talents.

Poetry and short stories are some of the talents that where enhanced.  Also learned that it is not so scary just to let the mind go free and enjoy.

But the most important thing I learned was Spelling Errors are minor imperfections in ones life skills.  

There is a reason our computers have SpellCheck...simply for folks whose spelling at times suck or have poor typing skills. Thus giving our readers words & understanding of what the heck we are typing.

Who Framed Me?

A finished piece of art can be framed or not;  it is a personal choice. Some look more attractive framed; some art just needs their own space such as a work of art on a gallery canvas.

Framing your works of art doesn’t need to be expensive.  I love it when the local shops have frame sales; the clearance section for frames can be your best friend. Use those coupons from flyers, newspapers, and that Michaels and JoAnn offer.  Look for used frames at garage sales, yard sales, moving sales, and even at Craigslist.  I also have made my own frames. Old wood is fun to slice and dice up for many projects big or small.

A simple display of your artwork sometimes is just what a wall needs. Sometimes a wall needs a full blown  attack of killer artwork - meaning lots and lots of art of different sizes and shapes and colors.

You don't have to display your artwork on just on walls;  placed a wonderful painting sitting on the floor against a piece of furniture.  Try using same size canvas's  that are back to back and hang from ceiling making a room divider.  Have a coffee table or end table ~  Make your own 'Designer Collection Book' with your favorite Artists photos' for any visitor to look through when the book is sitting on your coffee table.

The View from my Window

On various venues that artists and crafter's gather to sell their wares the competition is intense. 

Online galleries are amazing. 

The internet allows viewing of art otherwise only seen in museums or galleries. A whole new world of any genre is available for screening before you purchase.

During the past week this one has been creating new art, an enjoyable process with the new Photoshop program. Although I’m still learning how Adobe Photoshop works and understanding the different filters; it is just fun to turn a photograph into something totally different. Playing around, discovering the various limits of my own photographs have been more entertaining than I realized as I struggled with the decisions of my own style.

One needs to have a good photograph to begin the process. I have tried improving upon a photo that was trash and it enables you to learn how the Photoshop program works - it doesn’t change the fact the photo is not one to keep.
