One Year Again

Another year has passed and I write once more.  I must try harder to write more often.  I have set a schedule for myself so that I will do my blogging, write my novel, work on my photography, and travel with my faithful companion Doc.

Monte Carlo
Over this past year I traveled to various points in the States visiting families and friends.  Plus once again to Europe on a cruise.

Las Vegas

Barcelona, Spain

Pikes Market, Seattle Washington

Eugene, Oregon

Palm Springs, California
Pisa, Italy

Ate amazing food, drank great wines and tried different cocktails too a first for me acting as an adult.

Enjoyed days of love and found myself filled with joy at simple things once more.

Doc; my standard poodle; is forever a source of fun and entertainment.

Scrapbook Designer Papers

I've been dreaming once again.  A simple dream over and over.

A few months ago I stated many of my photos had turned into works that would be fun to use other than as photos!

That they would be fun designer scrapbooking papers.

So how does one contact the various companies that sell to the public scrapbooking papers?  I have oodles and oodles of designs that I believe would sell extremely well in that market area.

With Easter just around the bend in the calendar the above version of a Kaleidoscope is the perfect background for making fun greeting cards!

Perfect for SteamPunk artists!  I see all kinds of objects being added on a mixed media scrapbook page!

Altered Art Techniques

As you all know, one of my greatest pleasures on my laptop is creating digital art from my photos.  My desire presently is to take my photography into new realms.

As an artist one needs to grow and challenge one’s self along the way.

Anchorage’s Library as any library brings in new books on a regular basis.  A thrill beyond anything is when I located a book on a subject matter that takes my type of art into a new arena for me.   Right now I’m awaiting 10 new purchased artsy books to arrive.  My mouth drools just at the thought!

In the meantime two books I’ve discovered fascinate me!  Both are fine examples of where I desire my art to go and also give me new ideas on how to expand my artist skills.

Two books from 2007 that I highly recommend:

Mixed Emulsions/altered art techniques for photographic imagery - by Angela Cartwright

Digital Photo Art/beginner’s guide to – by Theresa Airey

Then I found a brand new published book 2010 that grabbed me by the ears because it also deals with using Photoshop to create art.

Digital Art Revolution/creating fine art with photoshop by Scott Ligon

So the next few weeks I’ll be trying some new techniques that each of these books discuss.

So until the snow melts I’m letting books be my moment’s journey and excitement.

Welcome to my world of art

A journey begins.

Words will appear.

My lips will pucker as I think of things to say.  Noise will emit through my lips as I type, keeping tune with songs or talking to a love one in another room.  A banter of teasing or saying "have you seen this..did you read?"

That's how I became to be 'Fishlips'.

I take pictures.

I paint.

I create fun things.

Most often my creations are very useful items.

Then there are the times my work is Awesome.  I think this daily.  But see below <G>

Sometimes my work sucks.  Bigger fishlips - a pouter I'm not ~ well not too often - my guy can pout much better and he is really good at Putting Out the Lips with a hound dog look to his beautiful baby blues.

I am only a woman, just watch out for my tears.  Alligator tears but that's a tale for another day.
