Sealed with a Kiss

In the days of golden yonder years: with love letters one would seal the envelope with a kiss, lick the stamp and wait patiently for the postal worker to pick up; then one would wait days, weeks, sometimes even months for a reply.

Now days more often than not a click of a button sends the mail from ones computer to another but now even faster with Text on ones phone.  Reply is almost instantaneously.

Passion is gone from actual writing letters on paper.  I doubt if most 15 years old even know how to write a formal letter by hand.

Speed and efficiency is the name of the game now days.

I'm old school - I love writing a note by hand.  I give my guy hand written love notes quite often.  At one point he saved several years worth of little notes and had stashed them in his 'favorite box' that was kept in the drawer at the counter where we eat.  Every now and then he pulls out this box and reads through the notes once again.

I did not know for a few years that these notes where being kept.  Even as I type this post a smile is on my face knowing that  He tries very hard to conceal that he is a romantic.  My love notes are  kept, and viewed when one needs a reassuring measure of life and so I continue to seal them with a kiss.

  1. What a lovely thing to do, Pat!
Makes me feel so positive about relationships, to think that there are actual people who actually do that sort of thing. Thank you for the warm image! Kiki x

  2. Pat you are so sweet to so many especially your guy! Thanks for sharing this sweet little bit with us. Nice to know that someone, somewhere still has a little romance left in them.
