Beauty and Macabre

As September draws to an end many of us think of a day ahead in the coming month: Halloween.

One my favorite authors that became a classic after his death is Edgar Allan Poe.  The truth is known he was not well received in life for his writing of macabre stories.

Unlike writers of today's ghoulish horror stories such as Stephen King, Dean Koonz, Peter Strub which all have my undying love for their fantastic writing talents - their books have been top sellers for well over 30 years and they are all living.

Hollywood has made several novels into movies from these writers.  King and Poe lead the pack for movies that bring you to the edge of your seat.

A quote from Poe a most complex man:

Man's real life is happy, chiefly because he is expecting that it soon will be soEdgar Allan Poe

Yesterday

Yesterday.

Words in a song from long ago.  Words I said on the morning of yesterday.

My world is small.  How big is your world.

Yesterday my world got even smaller.  My fishlips almost fell off with the lack of oxygen.

I woke up to a booty call mass email saying "Oops we sold the venue you have given your all to establish as a great avenue for your customers ".

This is the site that I've been working hard to display my top quality art for almost two years ~  Sold.

Needless to say I was overcome with anger.  In my honest opinion it was handled very wrong by those who began the selling site.  In the last few months vendors where mislead and misguided from the CEO Matthew Trifiro.

What a wax job Matt and team.

You sold your vendors down the river.  In Alaska that's justification to be feed to the Grizzly's.  We don't take kindly to being taken advantage of. This is the last Frontier we are a hardy bunch. Thus making us come out on top of anything thrown our way.

All the vendors at 1000markets where the cream of the crop in the 'Handmade' arena.  Now many are picking up broken hearts, lost dreams and scrambling to find a new home with the crush of Holidays before them for eking out a livelihood.

So I will move on also.  Packing up my art and various items to find a new additional selling venue.

Thank goodness I am on Cargoh.com  a super fresh upcoming selling venue that is Juried.

Juried sites keep out the suppliers, resellers, and those items which are not top notch.

Fortunately online selling venues are popping up everywhere.

Fishlips whistling 'Yesteerdayyyy, oh yesterdayy.' and signing off...

Don't be surprised if this little booty decides to open up a juried online selling venue for other online artist/crafter who hold strong to making it 'Handmade'.

Mind Walking with Ghosts

Fog is one thing that scares me.  My imagination runs wild.

Ghosts walk, vampires strike, Jack the Riper comes a calling.

And planes can't fly.

Anchorage has been seeing a weather pattern this past week of one that is most unusual: Fog.

We are socked in every morning, several days the fog never lifted.  Last 3 days lifting by noon and giving Anchorage glorious blue skies.

I once wrote a short story that terrified my readers.  That story lead off with fog, a playground and a little girl.

I need to get back to writing short stories and poetry - I miss that part of my mind's creativity.  A college professor once stated "you are a gifted writer You are a poet; I eagerly await to see what you write each assignment"  she wrote this on one of my papers in bright red ink Circled and underlined so I would not miss her comment; I still have that sheet of words somewhere in my treasures from the past.

I step away and give you Fog ~  Mind Walking with Ghosts

Art is many things to many people.  You can like all or you can like none.    You can like some or you can like a certain type.  You can like the classics or you can like the new upcoming artist.

Being on Facebook (or just about any social network) one is exposed to many artists of any nature if they extend their friendship to any & all.

Every day you scan posts with any picture that friends has included of their work or others.   A revolving Art Museum this will become for you.

A picture of someone’s pet becomes an odyssey of Animal Kingdom.

That new baby begins a journey of awakenings for caregivers.

Paintings inspire and awe viewers.

My own art expands and evolves
